History
This building dates back to the 1800's. The current owners have
restored the building into a popular Deli, but the meat market remains
in perfect condition in different section of the store. The owners
have even restored the original equipment that the first butchers used.
The owner has heard strange noises, and has seen apparitions; people
have even seen a person in the mirror, while they were in the bathroom.
Investigation #1
The
Pennsylvania Ghost & Paranormal Research Team heard about this building
through the founder of the website. When I was told that they have
seen apparitions, I was really intrigued. The team arrived at the
building September 1, 2006 at 10:00pm. Upon arrival the owner
guided us through his establishment, pointing out the various places
that phenomena has occurred.
Joe and I started setting up the equipment for the investigation.
We had 3 inferred cameras, 4 digital cameras, 6 voice recorders, 2 EMF
detectors and a thermo gun. The investigators present were Joe,
Dave, Kim, Sue, and me. There were also some other people present
for the investigation. The investigators broke the people into two
groups. The building was small for two teams of four people, so we
had to keep separated enough so our recordings would not clash.
The teams started to ask all there questions and take photographs.
I stayed in the first room with Joe, and Dave was in the back room with
Kim and Sue. As we made our way through the rooms I began to get
light headed in one of them. The strange thing is that I don’t
usually get light headed unless there is a strong paranormal presence in
the area. The spirit we were dealing with that evening was named
Joseph.
He
was the owner of the building back in the 1800's. Dave told me
that he only sensed one spirit in the building. Once he entered
the butcher shop he saw an outline of an older white man, who was bigger
in size, wearing a white apron. Once the owner showed our team
Joseph’s picture Dave’s feeling was confirmed. Dave’s team stayed
primarily in the butcher’s main area because he was hoping to make
contact with him.
The
investigation lasted approximately one hour so we felt that if we had
found any sufficient proof of a paranormal occurrence we would have
enough captured to call it a night. We thanked the owner for his
time and packed up our equipment.
