History
In 1871, the jail
opened and was in use until the late 1970's. After it opened seven men
were hung inside the jail. The men were accused of being Molly
Maguire's (Irish Catholics that started a secret organization). The
Maguire's were accused of killing coal management and destroying all
there equipment.
Cell 17 held a man that was convicted of conspiracy to
murder. He left a hand print behind on the wall of the cell. The hand
print was there to show his innocence, and would never go away. The
owners of the jail tried to get rid of the hand print several times.
Each time the print would still remain.

Investigation
Jim Thorpe was actually one of the first places that the Paghosthunters
investigators went to. Sue, Terri and Shannon (members of the team)
went to the prison for a tour. As they were walking around learning
about the history, they captured a EVP. They also captured a few
pictures that showed orbs of energy in the rooms with them.
The Pennsylvania Ghost & Paranormal Research Team
founder and other investigators are planning to go back to the jail.
This time capture more photo's and also more EVP's. Since we have more
people with us the investigation should go a lot better than before...
